FACTS
The foundation stone of the college was laid by the Late Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on the 3rd of May 1961 on a site spreading over an area of 222 acres on the banks of river Ganga.
The main college was inaugurated by the Late Prime Minister Sri. Lal Bahadur Shastri on the 18th of April, 1965.
The college is an associated college of Allahabad University, and being the only engineering college in the University, enjoys considerable freedom in academic affairs.
The students are extensively exposed to cross-cultural environment as candidates from various other countries such as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Mauritius, Malaysia, Iran, Yemen, Iraq, Palestine and Thailand also join MNREC for varius undergraduate and post-graduate programs.
